Chicago’s Chinatown is on the south side of the city, with the main thoroughfare being along both Cermak Road and Wentworth Avenue. This neighborhood has become the second largest Chinatown in the country after one in San Francisco, with an estimated 70,000 Chinese residents. The district is home to plenty of Asian restaurants, grocery stores and gift shops. Tourists staying in Chicago city should pay a visit to Chinatown, with the area boasting a number of lively events and celebrations throughout the year.

The Chicago Chinese New Year Parade 2016 will starts at 24th Street in Chicago and travels down Wentworth Avenue before ending at Cermak Road. You should line up early to get a great view of colorful floats, bombastic marching bands, lion dancers and a massive dragon. The Chicago Chinese New Year Parade and Festival will also feature Miss Chicago Chinatown as well as Miss Friendship Ambassador.
