San Francisco Chinatown – One of the largest Chinese Community in United States

The Chinese were one of the first Asian groups to arrive in United States to found many US Chinatowns since the 1840s on the West Coast and the 1870s on the East Coast of United States. San Francisco city in California state is home to a large population of Chinese communication. With its Chinatown as the landmark, San Francisco city itself has one of the largest and predominant concentrations of Chinese-American population centers. The Chinese New Parade first started in San Francisco in the year 1858. Now it becomes the largest Chinese New Year celebration outside China country.

2014 Chinese New Year parade and Spring Festival in San Francisco Chinatown

The San Francisco 2014 Chinese New Year Festival and Parade is one of the biggest annual events held in San Francisco, CA, USA. Held approximately two weeks following the first day of the Chinese New Year, San Francisco Parade combines elements of the Chinese Lantern Festival with a typical American parade.  The parade route begins on Market Street and terminates in Chinatown. The festival incorporates two fairs, the Chinese New Year Flower Fair and Chinatown Community Street Fair. Nowhere in the world will you see a Chinese Lunar New year parade with more gorgeous floats, elaborate costumes, ferocious lions, exploding firecrackers and of course the newly crowned Miss Chinatown U.S.A. and her court.
