Together with Taipei Taiwan, Hong Kong is one of two cities that organize traditional lantern festivals in grandest way. The Spring Lantern Festival 2017 in Hong Kong is a festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar year in the lunar calendar marking the last day of celebration for the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Horse. In Hong Kong, the Spring Lantern Festival will be lit with hundreds of colorful lanterns which will adorn the markets, store fronts, restaurants and hotels and just about anywhere you go.

The theme for Hong Kong Lantern Display is “Roaming in Love”. The displays will take place at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza inTsim Sha Tsui.
HK Urban Lunar New Year Lantern Carnival
This year’s line up TBA. The HK Urban Lunar New Year Lantern Carnival will take place at The Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui.
HK Lantern Making Exhibitions
The HK Lantern Making Exhibitions will showcase the craftsmanship of lantern making. The events will take place at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza A in Tsim Sha Tsui.
On the last day of Chinese New Year celebrations with Spring Lantern Festival, couples spend time together on what’s informally known as ‘Chinese Valentine’s Day. Besides the event in Spring season, Hong Kong will also organize Mid Autumn Lantern Festival in September with plenty of celebrations.
